    Germany's Lisa Brennauer has claimed the women's individual time-trail at the Road World Championships to take home her second gold in three days.

    Lisa Brennauer was celebrating again at the road cycling world championships with her second gold medal in three days.

    The German finished the 29.5-kilometre route to and from Ponferrada in dramatic style, clocking 38 minutes and 48 seconds.

    It was a special win for the 26-year-old who was in a state of shock at the result.

    SOUNDBITE (English) Lisa Brennauer:

    "I can't believe it right now. I'm overwhelmed and I think this needs some time for me to know that it's reality."

    Ukraine's Anna Solovey took silver at 18 seconds behind.

    Evelyn Stevens of the United States completed the podium with her second medal of these worlds after coming across 21 slower.

    The men's time trial takes place on Wednesday, while the women's road race is on Saturday; the men's - Sunday.
