WRT Audi's Laurens Vanthoor wins round five of the Blancpain Endurance Series and takes the 2014 Pro Cup at the Nürburgring in Germany.

A second consecutive win of the season saw Laurens Vanthoor become the 2014 Pro Cup champion of the Blancpain Endurance Series.

Vanthoor shared his Audi R8 LMS ultra with Christopher Mies and Cesar Ramos and was never threatened during an eventful Nurburgring 1000.

The race was marked by heavy rainfall and each of Vanthoor's rivals made mistakes or suffered technical problems.

The Belgian says he's thrilled to pick up WRT Audi's third Pro Cup title in four years:

"Not yet! It the same like last year in Baku, it takes a bit of time for the emotions to come up. But it's just perfect, last year we won the sprint series and this year we won the Endurance series, we couldn't dream better."

The HTP Mercedes of Stef Dusseldorp, Sergey Afanasiev and last year's champion Maxi Buhk finished second, whilst The Black Falcon Mercedes SLS entry completed the podium.
