Everton are looking to bounce back from Sunday's 3-2 home English Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace when they face Swansea City in the League Cup on Tuesday.

SOUNDBITE (English): Roberto Martinez, Everton manager

"Yes, he (Swansea manager Garry Monk) has done magnificently. I thought they (Swansea) started the season really, really well. And he has planned the campaign with a very good squad. And it does not surprise me at all. I knew the character inside out and he already has the material (character) on him. And I wish him the very best of luck obviously apart from the encounters that we are going to have face-to-face."

SOUNDBITE (English): Roberto Martinez, Everton manager

(Would it have been preferable to have a break after the Crystal Palace defeat?) "Well there is not a choice. It is not one of those situations that you have got the choice whether you play a game or not that is what it is. We embrace it. I think we want to be involved in as many competitions as we can. And we are prepared to do that. I think that it is important to show as a team that we have got the mentality right from one game to another."

SOUNDBITE (English): Roberto Martinez, Everton manager

"And they (the local derby against Liverpool) are big occasions. As professionals they are at the back our minds until we face them, But clearly they are two big moments of the season and we are really, really excited to be travelling to Anfield on Saturday. But clearly we want to take every game as it comes, game by game and I am excited that we are involved in another competition. And we are going to make sure that we perform as well as we can in every domestic cup and clearly tomorrow is now different."
