    Third-seeded Ana Ivanovic of Serbia beat second-seeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 6-2, 7-6 (2) on Sunday (21st September) to win the Pan Pacific Open and capture her fourth WTA title of the year.

    The pair had faced one another six times previously, with the Serbian leading the head-to-head four two.

    And it was Ivanovic who played true to form early on, working the Dane from the back of the court, she found this winner to take a 3-2 lead.

    The 3rd seed would break again and then serve out a to-love game taking the first set 6-2.

    Despite Wozniacki's collapse in the first, the two time Grand Slam finalist found her feet in the second & kept the set on serve in the early stages.

    Both held serve through to a tiebreak. yet Ivanovic took charge.

    The Serbian here with four match points forcing Wozniacki into the corners, and she found her winner with this forehand to claim the title.
