PSV Eindhoven completed a comfortable 4-0 home victory over a lacklustre SC Cambuur in the Philips Stadium, Eindhoven on Sunday (21st September).

    Script:

PSV Eindhoven were up agaisnt third-place SC Cambuur at the Philips Stadium in the Eredivisie looking to extended their lead at the top of the table.

And the home side dominated from the outset taking the lead thanks to a Luuk de Jong header in the 21st minute, Adam Maher with the assist for De Jong's third goal of the season.

Cambuur's goalkeeperm, Leonard Nienhuis, then gifted PSV a 2-0 lead with an inexcusable error.

Jetro Willems sent a speculative ball into the box only for Nienhuis to be caught in no man's land before losing his footing and allowing the ball to drift over him and into the back of the net for the most bizzare of goals.

Cambuur had little to offer, and any chances of a comeback were put to bed when Lucas Bijker was sent off for a second-bookable offence.

The home side taking full advantage in the second half as they went up 3-0 in the 78th minute, Maher again with the assist, Jeffrey Bruma with the header this time.

Maher then capped off a perfect afternoon with a goal of his own to add to his two previous assists.

The midfielder also scoring with a header from Luciano Narsingh's cross.

So, leaders PSV continue their impressive start to the season whilst Cambuur fall back to fifth in the league table.
