Caroline Wozniacki defeats Garbine Muguruza of Spain 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 on Saturday (20th September) to advance to the Pan Pacific Open final in Tokyo.

Ana Ivanovic advances into Pan Pacific Open final as well after a straight sets win over Angelique Kerber.

    Script:

Second-seeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark faced Spaniard Garbine Muguruza in the Tokyo semi-finals on Saturday.

The Dane claiming the first set when the Spaniard netted at two set points down. 6-4 Wozniacki.

However, Muguruza has been making headway this year, shown by her quarter-final appearance at the French - she took an early break in the second and finished it off with this thunderous forehand.

Into a decider, and Wozniacki had her chance at 3-2 on the Spaniard's serve. Muguruza's unforced error resulted in the break at 4-2 Wozniacki.

Muguruza had beaten Wozniacki in their two previous encounters, in the third round of the Australian Open in January and in Miami last year.

Yet the 20-year-old was a starring defeat in the face when she was 5-2 down and a break down.

The Dane was looking for the error from Muguruza and she found it with this tight line call.

Wozniacki would face either Ana Ivanovic or Angelique Kerber in Sunday's final. It looked like being the Serbian as she broke Kerber to take the opener 7-5.

Ivanovic was been reinvigorated this year with two WTA titles already and she looked on course for a crack at another here.

She broke Kerber to give herself a serve for the final, this time finishing the German with a pin point backhand.

Ivanovic has faced Wozniacki six times previously winning four to the Dane's two.
