    Another NFL player faces legal problems over domestic abuse allegations as Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was arrested on Wednesday (17 September) in Phoenix on aggravated assault charges in connection with two incidents at his home.

    "On today's date detectives from the Phoenix Police Department's Family Investigations Bureau arrested Jonathan Dwyer for allegations of aggravated assault. These are allegations that are stemming from two separate dates, both of those dates in July.

    SOUNDBITE (English): Sgt. Trent Crump, Phoenix Police Department

    He has been interviewed by our detectives. He has admitted involvement in the incidents. however had denied allegations of physical assault. Investigators are charging him with one count of aggravated assault for causing a fracture, one count of aggravated assault involving a minor, two counts of criminal damage for damage that was done at the residence during the altercations and to a cell phone, one count of preventing the use of a cell phone in an emergency and one count of an assault for allegedly assaulting the victim. The victim in this case is not being identified. She is currently out of state. She is identified as a 27-year-old female. The second victim is identified as a 18-month-old child that they have in common."
