    Script:

China's women took on Chinese Taipei in the Asian Games football tournament.

Both teams came into this match after opening their Group B campaigns with draws.

It took the Chinese just over five minutes to forge ahead, courtesy of Peng Han's cross that found the back of the net.

Li Yang doubled that advantage just six minutes later.

And Chinese Taipei found themselves 3-nil down at the interval after Rui Zhang's 37th minute strike.

Jun Ma completed the 4-nil scoreline within a minute of the restart.

In the men's competition, an eighth-minute own goal from Mohammad Darwish was enough to give Jordan a 1-0 win over the United Arab Emirates in their Group G opener.

In the Group H fixture between Iran and Kyrgyzstan, the meaningful action came late in the game.

Morteza Pouraliganji's opened the scoring in the 79th minute for the Iranians.

Ten minutes later and Avazbek Otkeev earned Kyrgyzstan a share of the points. 1-1 the final score.
