Czech league leaders Viktoria Plzeň travelled to struggling Slovan Liberec on Monday.

Plzeň grabbed an early lead courtesy of winger Vaclav Pilar. Liberec appealed for offside but replays showed the summer signing from Wolfsburg timed his run perfectly.

A swift passing move by last year's runners-up set Jan Chramosta free, who drew a good save from Ondrej Kolar.

Liberec's jet-heeled flyer Dzon Delarge then went close with an equally fast drive.

After the break, the Blue-whites equalised after Josef Sural somehow managed to score from the tightest of angles. Liberec's top scorer struck his shot well but keeper Matus Kozacik should have covered his near post.

It was a costly mistake as this 1-1 draw meant Plzeň failed to make the most of fellow title-chasers Sparta Prague and Slavia Prague slipping up this weekend.
