Steffi Graf and Franz Beckenbauer were among the star names taking part in a charity golf event in Heidelberg, Germany on Monday (September 15th) ahead of the 2015 Solheim Cup.

With just over a year to go until the 2015 Solheim Cup in Germany, famous faces from the German sporting world gathered on Monday to mark the date

The event in St. Leon-Rot, near Heidelberg, will take place in September 2015 with Europe looking to defend their title.

The Europeans won their first ever Solheim Cup on American soil with the win in Colorado.

Here in Germany, there was a charity golf event in aid of the Franz-Beckenbauer-Foundation, where a selection of sports stars hit golf balls from the town's 'Old Bridge'.

Host of the event Franz Beckenbauer was joined by Steffi Graf, who opted to play to her strengths with the tennis racket.

Next year's respective European and American captains - Carin Koch and Juli Inkster - were also in attendance, alongside players such as Paula Creamer, Caroline Hedwall and Sandra Gal.

Europe head into the 14th edition of the Solheim Cup as two-time defending champions, although America hold the superior overall record in the event with seven wins to Europe's six.
