SOUNDBITE: (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool head coach: (On returning to the Champions League):

"That has been our objective really, certainly when I came in that was my main priority to get the club back to this level. This is a club that really needs to be at this level both for itself and football in general. It's one of the greats of football around the world and this is the elite competition of club football. It feels brilliant to be back."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool head coach: (On what Liverpool's goal is in the Champions League):

"Success is about qualifying from the group. We'll take one game at a time. We're at home for our first game and we hope to perform well and get three points. Our over riding objective is to come out of the group and qualify."

SOUNDBITE (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool head coach: (On his young and inexperienced side playing in Europe):

"For us it's about embracing it. There's certainly no fear of the competition. It's one where we want to go on and impose our style and our way of working and playing. We've done that over the last 18 months and it's something we aim to continue to do."
