Bearded men battle it out at the British Beard and Moustache Championships in Bath, England on Saturday (13th September).

    Script:

The hairiest competition of them all took place in Bath on Saturday - The British Beard & Moustache Championships.

No serious hipster can be seen without a beard these days.

And the most serious beards in the whole of Britain gathered to do have a beard battle off.

The Dumbledore category being a keenly contested category judging by these characters.

Other categories included symmetry, length, girth and also bounce being an important factor as judge Lea Turner highlighted:

"It's something to grab onto. It has got to be bouncy It has got to bounce back when I grab it. This one will bounce back. That's a good beard."

To stand out from the crowd was one of the most obvious attributes required for the competition & 2012 winner of the 'Natural Moustache' - Chris Wall - declared style along with a good beard as essential....

"Realistically, it should just be about the 'tasche in all its glory. But I think sometimes having a good costume does just set it off fantastically."

Wall, and his butcher's outfit, were also victorious in the 'Natural Moustache' category - but it was a close shave with an ever competitive field.

The man known only as Tango Tasche did just that in his orange outfit - he won the 'Freestyle Moustache' prize, clearly to his delight.

Despite the vast array of styles, the beard wearers in the West Country all held one strong belief.
