"We prepared well. Coach K told us before the game we had to play our best game and we truly believed it and we played our best game. We shot the ball amazing, we played tough defence... We played as a real team today."

Anthony David, USA player:

"They're a great team, they were on our heels for the first couple of minutes and we had to come out and defend. We were kind of nervous, you know? It was a big game, but finally we got our rhythm."

Stephen Curry, USA player:

"I'm excited. This is my second gold medal. It's 4 years since I felt this experience and it's as special as it was back in Istanbul. I'm just happy to be part of a new group and take this back to the States. A lot of people are now watching back home, switching over from football to watch basketball, and I'm just happy to get it done".

"I can only say that, as a team we feel a little sorry that we didn't put a little more fight with the guys from the States, but as you can see everybody has a smile on their faces, I mean my team mates, we're not unsatisfied with this championship, I mean, silver medal is a big, big thing for our country and ourselves."
