    Script:

Oscar Pistorius arrived at court on Friday morning for the final verdict on trial for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp.

The 27-year-old as ever flanked by a fleet of police officers and the world's media attention was soon followed in by Reeva Steenkamp's mother and father.

Judge Thokozile Masipa began proceedings on Friday by addressing three separate, gun-related charges against the double-amputee Olympian, acquitting him of one charge of unlawfully firing a gun in public because of what she was said was contradictory testimony by witnesses.

Ordered Pistorius to stand before she delivered the verdict.

Masipa declared Pistorius to be found guilty of culpable homicide after he had killed his girlfriend by mistake. The conviction is at the judge's discretion, and it can range from a suspended sentence and a fine to up to 15 years in prison.

The judge allowed Pistorius to remain on bail ahead of sentencing which is to take place on 13 October.

Pistorius was also convicted on one of three unrelated firearm charges - handling a firearm that went off in a restaurant.

South Africa's prosecuting authority said it was "disappointed" Pistorius was not convicted of murder but said it would wait until after sentencing to decide whether to appeal.

For now The Pistorius camp can breathe a sight of relief, yet sentencing on October 13th could result in as long as 15 years in prison for Pistorius.
