"It feels amazing. I mean there are no words to describe it. And for sure my life is going to be completely different now. Before the tournament it was miles and miles away to be even thinking about the grand slam trophy, especially here. I knew I was playing well, but to put it all together in two weeks...in all different conditions, against so many good players, it was difficult to think about. I felt that helped me to play my own game, to be relaxed on the court, to let things happen on there own. And today, I'm a grand slam champion among all these great players that we have in our era. And it just feels absolutely amazing."

"Absolutely, sort of Stan (2014 Australian Open Champion Stan Wawrinka) opened those doors for most of us and we were, I feel, players from the second line, lucky this year, because Andy Murray was a little bit out due to his back injury, didn't play so great this year, Stan was up and down with his results, Rafa was out now last couple months, that opened, little bit, doors for the other guys to be in later stages of the tournament, and opened also doors for me. Doors which are believed to be able to win at these events. And when you are a tennis player on the tour for five, six years, you sort of feel that you're hoping it's going to come one day, the Grand Slam result, huge one, but you are sort of, year after year it's passing by, you are much further away. And now to be here today, it's top of the world for me."
