    British riders have dominated in the downhill finals at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Norway.

    In the women's event, Great Britain claimed a clean sweep of the podium.

    Tahnee Seagrave led the charge, but it was a lightening quick time of 3 minutes and 49 seconds from Manon Carpenter that saw her claim the overall win  and the gold medal.

    Carpenter took the rainbow jersey ahead of defending world champion and race favourite Rachel Atherton

    In the men's race, Gee Atherton sealed the memorable day for the travelling Brits.

    He claimed the final gold medal of the Championships, ahead of team mate Josh Bryceland who took silver.

    Atherton posting a time of just under 3 minutes 24 seconds, to blow away his rivals and seal the Downhill gold.
