He's not one to shy away from the limelight and in the final Diamond League meeting of the year, in Brussels, Justin Gatlin made the headlines again.

He completed a sprint double with some highly impressive performances setting a world best time this year of 9.77 seconds in the 100m.

Before destroying the field in the 200m, winning in 19.71 seconds.

In the high jump Qatar's Mutaz Essa Barshim was close to setting a new world record, but just failed with his attempt at 2 metre 46.
His mark of 2.43 setting a new Asian record and Diamond League record.

In the shot put Valerie Adams utter dominance continues. She won her 56th consecutive elite final with a throw of 20.59 metres.

It was the year's best mark 2014, and meant that she's won all seven Diamond League finals this year - quite incredible

The mens 1500 metres went down to millimetres in the end, Taoufik Makhloufi edging Kenya's Silas Kipligatish by just two-hundredths of a second.

Allyson Felix blitzed rival Blessing Okagbare in the women's 200 metres to be crowned the Diamond League champion. A disappointing end to the season for Okagbare who could only finish sixth.

And Renaud Lavillenie became the first athlete to win five Diamond Race titles after securing the pole vault title.

He jumped a world best jump of 5.93 and has now won the pole vault title every year since the Diamond League was introduced in 2010.
