Australia trained in Barcelona on Saturday (September 6th), in preparation for their FIBA World Cup round of 16 meeting with Turkey.

    Script:

Australia continue their Basketball World Cup campaign on Sunday when they faceTurkey in a round of 16 match in Barcelona.

The 'Boomers' finished in third place in the final Group C standings, behind Lithuania and Slovenia.

But Australia's qualification to the last 16 didn't come without controversy.

Andrej Lemanis' side were beaten by Angola in their fifth and final group game - a result that guaranteed they would not face the USA in the quarter-finals, should both sides advance to that stage.

Instead, the tournament favourites are now on course for a last eight encounter with Slovenia, whose captain Goran Dragic has accused Australia of match fixing in the game against Angola to intentionally avoid the USA.

Dragic published his claim on Twitter, basing his statement on Australia's poor performance against Angola, where they lost 91-83 having already assured their last 16 spot.

Nevertheless, Australia will still need to overcome Turkey in the last 16 to ensure a place in the quarter finals.
