  • Intro:

Canadian Brandon Semenuk takes first place at the Red Bull District Ride 2014, in Nuremberg, Germany on Saturday (September 6).

    Script:

The worlds finest BMX Freestyle riders were in Nuremberg to contest the 2014 Red Bull District Ride.

In front of a bumper crowd - and over a specially constructed and highly challenging course - the chosen few fought it out and flexed their freeriding style, daring and creativity for the chance to claim glory.

The course twisted and turned through five districts, each featuring elements from Slopestyle, Dirt jump, and Park.

However, the big crowd pleaser was the 'Big Air' jump located in the town square.

TREK C3 PROJECT team rider Brett Rheeder showed the guts and determination required to compete amongst the world elite with a brave and impressive routine from the Canadian - and one that ended with a backflip off the big air ramp - and brought the crowd to their feet.

But it was Canadian Brandon Semenuk who really caught the eyes of the judges with his run later in the day.

Semenuk took the win - and the unique winners shield - to add to the plaudits he gained from victory at the Red Bull Joyride in his native Whistler, British Colombia earlier this year.
