SOUNDBITE: (English) Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett:

"In regards to Michael Sam, we feel like he has a chance to come in at a position that we've tried to address throughout the off-season, throughout the training camp, and compete for a spot. The way we view the practice roster is, first and foremost, their job is to help facilitate practice. But it's also a great opportunity for us to develop personnel and evaluate personnel, and this is no different for us. We're bringing a player in that we want to see on the practice field. We've heard nothing but good reports about him from people in St. Louis. We just want to give him a chance and see if he can help our football team."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett:

"Again I'll go back to the same refrain, this is about football and we evaluated him as a football player and we wanted to see if he could help us see what he can do, but our attention and focus is on football. It's on getting ready for the 49ers. That's the culture we have around here and that's the culture we'll continue to have."

SOUNDBITE: English Dallas coach Jason Garrett:

"Again, I think we have to be careful about spending too much time on a practice roster player. We traded for a defensive end who's going to be on our active roster, from Tennessee. We picked up a defensive lineman who we think is going to be on our active roster. So we tried to address the situation. Well documented the guess we had here last year that are no longer with us. We tried to adders this position in the draft. DeMarcus Lawrence unfortunately got hurt in training camp. We want to give ourselves the best chance - with young players, with veteran players, with guys who are with us, with guys who are on other teams to come help us be as good as we can be on the defensive line. So we'll do that a lot of different ways and hopefully that will help us this week against San Francisco."
