Scotland's Richie Ramsay and Edoardo Molinari share lead after opening round of European Masters on Thursday (4th September).

A blistering start from Richie Ramsay helped the Scotsman to a share of the lead on the opening day of the European Masters on Thursday.

Ramsay eagled the first hole followed by birdies on two and three on his way to to an eight under par 62.

Ramsay sits on top of the leaderboard alongside Edoardo Molanari - the Italian also enjoying a flawless round.

British trio Tommy Fleetwood, Graeme Storm and Gareth Maybin shot 64s to tie for third.

Well in contention is Victor Dubuisson - the Frenchman confirmed this week in Paul McGinley's Ryder Cup team.

Dubuisson enjoyed a five under par round of 65.

Wales' Jamie Donaldson will also be representing Europe against the USA in Gleneagles - he looked in similarly good touch with a round of 65.

Defending champion Thomas Bjorn finished on four under par with five birdies for a 66.

Ryder Cup vice captain Padraig Harrington carded the same score after finishing with two eagles.

His colleague at the upcoming tournament in Gleneagles will be looking for improvement though - Miguel Angel Jimenez way down the leaderboard after an opening par round of 70.
