After a high-profile unveiling of their team bus last week, Bayern Munich continued to create headlines off the pitch on Sunday, this time with their players wearing lederhosen.

Pep Guardiola's men upheld the club's annual tradition of getting dressed up in a sponsor shoot for Paulaner Brewery.

New signings Xabi Alonso from Real Madrid and ex-Roma centre-back Mehdi Benatia seemed right at home amongst their new team-mates.

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Alonso signed from the European Cup winners last week for a reported fee of £5million.

The Spaniard completed the most passes, made the most touches on the pitch and covered the largest distance as Bundesliga champions Bayern were held at home by Schalke.

The Bavarians allegedly wrote a cheque for £23.9million to prise Benatia from last year's Serie A runners-up after make-shift centre-back Javi Martínez was ruled out until the New Year with cruciate ligament damage.
