Intro:
Zenit St. Petersburg maintained their 100 per cent record in the Russian Premier League with a comfortable 1-0 victory over Lokomotiv Moscow in the Stadion Lokomotiv, Moscow.
Script:
Zenit St Petersburg made it six wins out of six in all competitions, when they took on a lacklustre Lokomotiv Moscow side in the Russian Premier League.
Zenit looked the better side in the first half with Axel Witsel forcing an impressive save from Lokomotiv goalkeeper Ilya Abaev after his close-range header early in the half.
However, it was Lokomotiv Moscow's Roman Pavlyuchenko who had the best chance of the half, when he latched on to a Alexandr Samedov free-kick, only to direct the ball just wide of the Zenit post.
In the second half, Zenit continued to dominate.
They got their breakthrough in the 60th minute when Javi Garcia cleverly guided a knock down by Nicolas Lombaerts to find the net.
It's Garcia's first goal for Zenit since joining from English Premier League side Manchester City.
Lokomotiv showed very little in response and it was Zenit who should have put the game beyond doubt.
They held on for a 1-nil win to maintain their position at the top of the league table.
