  • Intro:

Reaction from the semi-finals of the Badminton World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (Mandarin) Lee Chong Wei, men's singles, Malaysia:

"Actually I was very focused in the match and fighting for every point. You maybe cannot see that from the final score but I was really focused as I didn't want the match to take too long and I wanted to finish it as quickly as possible so I can get maximum rest before the final."

SOUNDBITE: (Mandarin) Lee Chong Wei, men's singles, Malaysia:

"If I play against Chen Long in the final, I think our head-to-head record is sort of even. The one that has better form and puts in the better performance tomorrow will win the match."

SOUNDBITE: (Mandarin) Li Xuerui, women's singles, China:

"Minatsu Mitani has a fighting spirit. You can see that she moves a lot on the court and it is tough to win a point from her just by straight shots, so I felt it was a very tough match against her. You know she came from behind to win the match in the last-16 and in the quarter-finals. So I had to prepare very well before the game with her. I knew I couldn't relax when I won the first set 21-9 because I knew she was out of form. And even though I was really focused, she still gave me some problems in the second set."
