SOUNDBITE: (English) Alistair Cook, England captain:(on the inclusion of Nottinghamshire batsman Alex Hales in the squad)"I don't think it changes my role, the job of the top four or five is to try and score a hundred, to try and win the game by scoring a hundred, try and set up the game. You have to do it in your way if possible, and what's been pleasing about Alex (Hales) in the last month or so, I think he scored four hundreds for Nottinghamshire at a good rate as well, so he's a different batter to the other guys, he hits the ball incredibly hard and he hits it in slightly different areas, with an unorthodox technique if that makes sense, which seems to work really well for him. He's done really well in T20 cricket and he's got the chance now for these five games to see what he can do in 50 overs."SOUNDBITE: (English) Alistair Cook, England captain:"We haven't had this period ever, since I started anyway, when you've had just one-day cricket for seven months. So in terms of planning and in terms of your ability to practise those skills which are really needed for one-day cricket, especially the extra skills that you need like power play overs both with bat and ball, and death bowling, stuff where you can actually dedicate time to do it. Normally, as I say, these one-day series are fitted in between Test match series or on the back of them like this one is, but after this series we have a bit of time off to really improve those skills, and that's what we'll need to do if we've got a chance of winning the World Cup in good conditions for us."
