    Mo Farah marked his first appearance on a British track in more than a year by shattering Steve Ovett's 36-year-old British record over two miles at the Birmingham Grand Prix in England on Sunday.Farah powered home to cross the line in eight minutes 07.85 seconds, blowing Ovett's mark of 8mins 13.51secs out of the water.The double Olympic, world and European champion's time was also a European record.David Rudisha went for Johnny Gray's 1:12.81 the world's record in the men's 600 metres, but had to settle for a dominating victory over European champ Adam Kszczot in a 2014 world leading time of 1:13.71.Olympic champion Kirani James cruised home to beat Isaac Makwala of Botswana and Great Britain's Martyn Rooney in the men's 400m race.Olympic and Commonwealth hurdles champion Sally Pearson earned a third place finish in her event. Mutaz Essa Barshim and Bohdan Bondarenko fought it out in the men's high jump and it was the Qatari athlete who prevailed, winning on a countback with a height of 2.38 metres after both men failed three times at 2.41 metres
