Despite a 6.0 magnitude earthquake early Sunday morning, IndyCar's GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma race went off as scheduled in the afternoon. Helio Castroneves took damage to both his front wing and the back fender, sending him into the pits. The Brazilian got back on the track and appeared to cause a second crash on the 36th lap. Castroneves, Sebastien Bourdais and Sebastian Saavedra ended up three wide going into a hairpin turn and Castroneves seemed to shove Bourdais into Saavedra, who ended up taking the worst of it. Despite spinning on this lap, Will Power battled back to finish tenth. That gives the Australian 51 point lead over Castroneves and an 81 point advantage over Simon Pagenaud heading to the two-mile Auto Club Speedway oval for the season-closing MAVTV 500 on Saturday.Scott Dixon is out of title contention but he claimed victory in California. The Kiwi slid inside Mike Conway for the lead and finished 1.1359 seconds ahead.
