Script:
Ryu So-Yeon won her first LPGA title in two years on Sunday as she held off Choi Na-Yeon to claim the Canadian Women's Open title.
The world number nine fired a final-round 69 to beat fellow South Korean Choi by two shots. Ryu said afterwards that this birdie at the 16th was key to her success.
SOUNDBITE (English): So Yeon Ryu, 2014 Canadian Pacific Women's Open Champion (on the importance of birdying at the 16th hole):
"You know what? That's exactly what I talked with my caddy. You know I've been playing so great the back nine that I struggled with my game at the back nine but the really good thing is I did trust myself. I really, I was sure I didn't care about anybody, I was really focused on my game but, you know, was still, when I hit the great shots still wasn't that great so I thought 'oh, it's really hard to make another one' so I was just keep through it then finally I made it, the hole 16 was really, really big you know big hole then I was sure if I make it I'm going to win so I did just my best and I really happy I made it."
Ryu's last tour victory came in 2012 at the Toledo Classic.
