(On what it's like now playing as part of a back three) "It seems to be the in thing at the moment and obviously it takes a bit of getting used to. We've been doing it for the last few weeks in training and it's coming together. I think as a three in the game last Saturday we didn't concede to many chances. They obviously scored from a set piece but in open play we seemed to be fairly tight and I think the more we practice and the more we play obviously we will hopefully get better at it."

(On playing alongside Steven Caulker and Rio Ferdinand) "Yes they are two great defenders and obviously Rio has got a wealth of experience behind him and he's won lots of stuff and I think that winning mentality is what this squad needs you know. Just to be able to drive us forward and I think over the period of the season the two of them will prove how valuable they are to us."
