    Script:

On Wednesday Uraguian side Penarol took on Jorge Wilstermann of Bolivia in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana.

In the 12th minute, midfielder Jorge Rodriguez struck a low shot on-target from the edge of the area, only for the ball to hit a defender and sail past wrong-footed visiting goalkeeper Matias Dituro to give Penarol the lead.

Eight minutes from time Penarol felt they should have had a penalty when Wilstermann's Juan Zampiery appeared to handle the ball as a shot came in from close range.

Instead the referee awarded a corner.

Jorge Rodriguez's team-mate - and namesake - Jonathan Rodriguez made sure Penarol claimed victory, making best use of defender Christian Vargas's body to grab his team's second goal five minutes from full-time.

The Montevideo-based side's clean-sheet means that they go into the return leg in Bolivia with a distinct advantage over Wilstermann as both teams seek to advance to the second round of the competition.
