    The Summer Youth Olympic Games team cycling event continued on Monday in Nanjing, China.

    In the men's time trial segment Denmark's Mikkel Froelich Honore was fastest with Poland's Szymon Sajnok second and Colombia's John Rodriguez third.

    Japan's Kiyoka Sakaguchi won the women's time trial with Slovakia's Tereza Medvedova second and Denmark's Pernille Mathiesen third.

    Pool play in Rugby 7's continued Monday with France taking out Fiji 17-12 on the men's side with this winning try by Alexandre Lagarde.

    Argentina continued its strong play in Nanjing, crushing Kenya 32-5 while Japan defeated the United States 22-10.

    In women's Rugby 7's, Australia are through to the semi-finals after a 38-0 whitewash of the United States.

    In women's football, Venezuela are into the semi-finals of the tournament after a 6-2 defeat of Slovakia on Sunday night.

    The men's triathlon began on Monday with 32 athletes between the ages of 15 and 17 taking the start

    After the swim portion, a crash almost took out several riders on the cycling leg.

    The race came down to the final 100 metres of the run and Great Britain's Ben Dijkstra outran New Zealand's Daniel Hoy at the finish to win.

    In the pool, it was dead heat at the finish of the men's 100 metres backstroke as Simone Sabbiono of Italy and Evgeny Rylov of Russia touched in identical times of 54.24 to share the gold.
