Australian youngster Jake Higginbottom took the halfway lead in the inaugural Fiji International tournament on Friday (August 15) following an impressive three-under-par 69.
Script:
It was windy start on Friday for the second round of the Fiji International.
Local star and course designer Vijay Singh is tied at 40th on the leaderboard. The three-time major winner carded a 74 and is three-over for this newly-launched tournament.
Overnight leader Wang Minghao shot an 82 and missed the five-over-par cut by one stroke.
Liang Wenchong finished the second round at one-under to rank in a tie for 12th on the leaderboard.
Hur In-hoi carded an even-par round on Friday, finishing 36 holes in 142 shots for a two-under tally. He is equal ninth with two Australian players; Nathan Holman and Nick Cullen.
Lucas Lee is alone in fifth place at four-under having hit 140 shots over two rounds.
Meanwhile, Andrew Dodt lies joint second on the leaderboard with fellow Australians Cameron Smith and Steven Jeffress.
Dodt carded a one-under 71 on Friday for a two-shot gap to make up on the leader, who is another Australian - Jake Higginbottom.
Jeffress went one better than Dodt on day two, signing for a 70.
Higginbottom, started his round on the 10th and made two glorious birdies on 17 and 18. His only bogey came on the ninth hole.
At seven-under, the 20-year-old from New South Wales is the man to aim at the start of Saturday's third round.
