Canadian seventh seed Eugenie Bouchard was knocked out in the Cincinnati Masters second round by Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia on Wednesday.

Kuznetsova's 6-4 3-6 6-2 win means the Wimbledon runner-up has now been eliminated in successive tournament openers as the U.S. Open draws closer.

Next up for Kuznetsova is world number 11 Ana Ivanovic.

Fourth seeded Pole Agnieszka Radwanska cruised to a 6-2 6-2 win over Japan's Kurumi Nara.

Fresh from her Rogers Cup win in Montreal on Sunday, the world number five now plays Sabine Lisicki.
