Roger Federer has added yet another milestone to his long list of career highlights, becoming the first player to reach 300 match wins at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 level.

The 33-year-old Swiss posted a 7-6 5-7 6-2 victory over Canadian Vasek Pospisil in the Cincinnati Masters on Wednesday.

Federer's third round opponent is Frenchman Gael Monfils, who sent 13th seed Roberto Bautista Agut home with a dominant 6-4 6-1 win in just under an hour.

The world number 23 gave his 18th ranked opponent a hard-court lesson, winning 80 percent of his first serves on his way to victory.

Elsewhere in Ohio, Canada and America continued their traditional rivalry when Milos Raonic knocked out home favourite Robby Ginepri in straight sets.

The fifth seed won 6-2 6-2 to book his place in the next round.

Raonic supports Barcelona and his camp will hope he can pass Steve Johnson and reach the quarter-finals.
