Wiesberger pleased with 'unexpected position'

  • Intro:

Player reaction following Saturday's (9th August) third round of the US PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Bernd Wiesberger/ 6-under par for the day, 12-under for the tournament, on his excitement with his play:

"I'm very pleased obviously. I didn't expect any of this really coming into this week. I knew I was prepared well and the course really suits my eye. So far I'm taken advantage of this and it's great to finish the round with three birdies in a row and basically tap-in birdies as well. That gives me hopefully good momentum going into tomorrow and really it's a new situation for me to in a major championship."

SOUNDBITE (English) Henrik Stenson/ 4-under par for the day, 9-under for the tournament, on his position heading into Sunday:

"No, I'm still going to play the way I'm playing, hopefully as good as I did today and play the course the same way. You have got to be there on the back nine. I prefer to be two ahead, but if I'm two behind you know you're in with a chance if you drain a couple of good putts and hit some good shots. It's all about positioning, being there. You never know what can happen. I've been up there a few times. I haven't had the best chances of winning one of the big ones in the past, even though I've had some high finished. It's always been a couple too many away, I feel. Hopefully tomorrow I can make it a little bit tighter on the back nine. Again, I'm focusing on my stuff and we'll see what happens."
