USPGA Golfers cope with inclement weather

Saturday, August 09 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Heavy rain forced an early suspension of play in the second round of the US PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club, putting tee times back 50 minutes, and according to Henrik Stenson who was even par for the day, 5-under for the tournament, the conditions were a challenge

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Henrik Stenson/ Even par for the day, 5-under for the tournament, on the course conditions:

"It was a little softer. It's pretty messy out there, it's soaking wet. We're playing the ball down, which in my book is not the best idea. It's challenging at times. And also pitching some of those cute little pitches around the green when it's this wet and it kind of gives way, it gets your attention, that's for sure

SOUNDBITE (English) Steve Stricker/ 3-under par for the day, 5-under for the tournament, on his round:

"I'm sure there will be some more guys that pass me, but I'm happy with my position. I wish I could have picked one up coming in or not given the one away that I did on the 4th hole. All in all, good two days and I look forward to the weekend."

SOUNDBITE (English) Graham Delaet/ 3-under par for the day, 5-under for the tournament:

" Yeah, I'm in good position going into the weekend. It's by far the best I've gone into the weekend in a major, so I'm excited about the opportunity coming up."
