SOUNDBITE (English) Rory McIlroy/ 5-under par for the day, 5-under for the tournament, on his start to the tournament:

"Of course, I think one of the big things for me, especially in major championships is getting off to good stats and being right up there at the start. I have been able to do that today, and if I can continue to be up there the rest of the tournament. You see guys out there this morning shoot 5 and 6-under par, you know that there are scores out there, there's opportunities. You got the par-5s, you got a few shorter par-4s. It's still receptive and there's definitely birdies out there to be had."
