SOUNDBITE: (English) Mike Hooper, Commonwealth Games chief executive (On positive drug test of Botswana 400-metre runner Amantle Montsho following fourth-place finish in women's final):

"I think it's inappropriate to comment on this particular case. It's under process, and I'm sure you'll understand why each day the process has to be followed strictly. What I will say is that, as I've said many times, we've put in place a very robust, taken a very robust approach to the anti-doping programme. To date, as of last night, we've done 1,004 tests, across, defined by the Games period, and the pre-Games figures, the chair of our medical adviser Dr Jegathesan (Honorary Medical Advisor of the Commonwealth Games Federation) confirmed that in the pre-Games period was over 900, around the 900 mark. So it's been quite a comprehensive programme, and one that we're committed to see grow and continue."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Mike Hooper, Commonwealth Games chief executive (On reports of a lack of interest in hosting the Commonwealth Games):

"There's been a lot of interest in hosting these Games, and, whilst ultimately, for 2018 I remember a lot of journalists predicting an end of an era after Gold Coast. In fact after reading (journalist) Doug Gillon's article 'The Quiet Man Hooper', which I didn't know who that was, very clearly we have a process, it's a bit like when you talk about anti-doping, we have a process we must follow and respect that process. There was a lot of interest in 2022, that ultimately converted to Durban, South Africa, and Edmonton. We are already talking to cities and countries vis-a-vis (20)26 and (20)30."

SOUNDBITE: (English) David Grevemberg, Glasgow 2014 chief executive:

"Last night was fantastic. I thought it was fantastic, exciting end to the athletics competition. We've seen some great performances every night, amazing crowd, and the athletes I think responded to what they felt, and it was great to see the entire Jamaican 4 x 100 team come out to win the gold and that they were successful. That was the aspiration, and they achieved their goal, but all the athletes gave it their all last night, absolutely brilliant, and it was fun."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Mike Hooper, Commonwealth Games chief executive (Responding to questions from Indian journalists asking about reports that two Indian officials connected with the Commonwealth Games were arrested in Glasgow last night):

"Well, I think the response there, is what you would expect. We are aware about the matters, and I'm sure you'll understand that the sort of questions you raise relate to matters that are being dealt with by the police in Scotland, and the courts, and you should direct your questions to them. We have no comment to make."
