BMW Team RMG driver Marco Wittmann won the sixth round of the DTM at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria on Sunday (3rd August).

Germany's Marco Wittmann won his third race of the DTM season as he took the chequered flag at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

The current points leader only took over the lead on lap 32 of 47 but once ahead, he wound up having little opposition on his way to victory.

The 24-year-old had a cushion of three BMW drivers between him and any significant competition meaning he could stroll to victory in the final stages.

Wittman finished the 47-lap race 3.2 seconds ahead of fellow BMW driver Augusto Farfus.

Timo Glock was third with Martin Tomczyk completing the quartet of BMW drivers at the top of the race standings.

Round seven of the DTM season takes place at the Nuerburgring in Germany on August 17th.
