Belgian Pro League champions Anderlecht won 2-0 away to Oostende in the second match of the season on Friday (1 August).

    Script:

Belgian champions Anderlecht travelled to Oostende looking to make it two wins from two since the start of the new season.

While the home side dominated possession throughout the match coming out with 60 per cent overall, it was Anderlecht that had the majority of the chances.

Gohi Cyriac going closest in the first half with a spectacular overhead kick, although he was denied by a fine save.

The visitors did open the scoring just shy of the hour mark when some sloppy defending allowed Aleksandar Mitrovic to go through on goal.

He coolly slotted the ball past Oostende goalkeeper Didier Ovono to send the travelling fans wild.

The hosts went close to equalising almost immediately, Franck Berrier's dangerous cross was cleared from the face of goal only to find Siani on the edge of the box.

But he too had his effort blocked by an Anderlecht body to keep the visitors ahead.

Anderlecht eventually sealed all three points in the dying moments of the match when Argentine Matias Suarez beat two defenders and finished nicely for his side's second.

2-0 the final score, meaning Anderlecht move top of the table with six points, while Oostende's search for the first points of the season carries on.
