    There was gold medal success for cyclists from New Zealand and England in the women's and men's time trials, while England's Max Whitlock won his third gold of the Games as he was crowned men's floor champion on day eight of the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Thursday (31st July).

    Australian diver Grant Nel scored zero after slipping on the springboard, and landing in the pool flat on his back, in the men's 3-metre preliminary round at the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Thursday (31st July).

    In the women's cycling time trial, Danish born New Zealander Linda Villumsen won her first Commonwealth Games gold medal.

    While in the men's time trial there was a gold medal for England, thanks to Alex Dowsett whoe dug deep late on.

    There was further success for England in the gymnastics, Max Whitlock securing his third gold of the Games in the floor competition.

    Finally, there was a light-hearted moment in the diving as Grant Nel black-flopped into the water earning him a score of 0 from the judges.
