The Duchess of Cambridge spent the morning visiting sports charities in Glasgow before attending the Commonwealth Games on Tuesday.

Her first stop was at Home Nation House for a reception organised by The SportsAid charity, of which she is a patron.

More than 450 of the home nations' athletes competing at Glasgow 2014 have received support from SportsAid, including Bradley Wiggins for Team England and Daniel Keatings for Team Scotland.

The royal met with delegates as well as aspiring athletes and those who had already won medals.

Meanwhile Princes William and Harry visited the Gorbals Leisure Centre to meet coaches from the Coach Core programme.

The brothers also tried their hand at various sports, with Harry attempting boxing before they both played for opposing teams in a friendly match of indoor football.

The three royals reunited at the athletes village where they met up with England's most successful Olympian, Sir Chris Hoy, who is also chieftain of the village.

From there they met several Commonwealth Games medal winners, including 13-year-old Erraid Davies from Scotland who won bronze in the SB9 100m breaststroke final on Monday.

The trio then headed to Hampden Park to watch the latest session of athletics.
