I'm desperate to remain England captain- Cook

Sunday, July 27 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Alastair Cook said on Saturday (26th July) that he is 'desperate' to carry on as England captain - on the eve of the third Test versus India, the under-pressure Cook knows that if they lose the next Test, they cannot win the series as the England skipper struggles to stop a slide in form that has seen him fail to register an international century in 14 months.

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Alastair Cook:

"I keep saying as I keep saying it seems in every press conference at the moment. I'm desperate to carry on because I love being England captain. It's a huge honour and as I said when first took over, I just want to throw everything into it. And, until that time where I don't feel I can carry on doing it or when someone taps me on the shoulder, then that's what I'm going to do."
