On Saturday in Gstaad at the Suisee Open, 30-year-old Argentinian Juan Monaco defeated last year's finalist and seventh seed Robin Haase of the Netherlands in straight sets 6-3, 7-6.

The start of play was delayed by three hours on Saturday due to heavy rain.

Haase was bidding to reach his first final since last season's Vienna Open but couldn't take a set against Monaco despite taking early leads in both.

Monaco recovered from a 0-3 deficit in the first set and found himself 0-2 down in the second set but recovered to win in one hour and 45 minutes.

Juan Monaco will break back into the top 100 after a strong week at the Suisse Open in Gstaad, where he has reached his first final for 12 months.

Monaco will contest the final on Sunday against fourth seed Fernando Verdasco or another Spaniard, Pablo Andujar,
