Peter Whiteford and David Horsey share the lead, following round three of the Russian Open in Moscow on Saturday (26th July).

Scotland's Peter Whiteford finished the third day with a six-under-par 66 to share the lead with English rival David Horsey following the conclusion of round three of the Russian Open in Moscow

Despite a missed putt leading to a bogey at the seventh, Whiteford birdied five of his first six holes and an impressive front nine display was capped by an unlikely eagle from the bunker at the eighth.

Horsey had led after the first two days - but a two-under-par 70 was not enough to maintain his lead.

Following birdies at the first and third, he hit a bogey at the ninth and failed to capitalise on two early birdies on the back nine by bogeying again at the 13th and then the 15th.

Both men now stand on 13-under-par, four ahead of Scott Jamieson, Thomas Pieters and Andrea Pavan, who shot a best-of-the-week 64.

Following a couple of second-placed finishes in the past, Whiteford's efforts have put him in a good position to secure a maiden European Tour victory on the final day.
