SOUNDBITE: (English) Steve Moneghetti, Team Australia chef de mission: (on Usain Bolt)

"Isn't it great to have him here? Staying in the (athletes) village, how good is that? He could stay wherever he wanted to, and you're telling me he's coming in early - what's the problem with that? How good's that? To have him around the village, and that's the one good thing about the Commonwealth Games. It's the "friendly games". He will want to come, because he wants to experience the fun and the activity of being a part of the Commonwealth Games. That's great a selling point that we can have."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Mike Hooper, Commonwealth Games Federation chief executive:

"I think it's fantastic to have him here - and not just Usain himself but as I said two days back, the Commonwealth, as Tamas Ajan (the International Weightlifting Federation president) advised you, we've got quality athletes, they want to come here, they want to be part of this, and it's great that he's going to be here. I'm not going to deny it, I think it's fantastic that he (Bolt) is here."
