Australia's triumphant quartet of Jack Bobridge, Alex Edmondson, Glenn O'Shea and Luke Davison reflect on winning the gold meal and smashing the games record in the 4,000 metre Team Pursuit at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scortland on Thursday (24th July).

SOUNDBITE (English) Jack Bobridge, Australian cyclist and gold medallist:

(On winning gold with a Commonwealth Games record)

"It's always a fantastic feeling to not just win but to take the record is fantastic. We set the benchmark in Delhi (at the 2010 Commonwealth Games) and now we've come here we've taken it off again with a great bunch of guys. I only met up with them two weeks ago so to re-join with the guys after spending a bit of time off the track has been fantastic."

SOUNDBITE (English) Jack Bobridge, Australian cyclist and gold medallist:

    (On the gold medal)

"For us it's amazing. It's another massive stepping-stone for the team pursuit. Our biggest goal is in Rio (de Janeiro). So we'll take that one big step forward now and then we'll leave here and assess again and see what we can do for Rio."

SOUNDBITE (English) Luke Davison, Australian cyclist and gold medallist:

(On beating out Bradley Wiggins and the English)

"It's always nice to win (against the English) on, it's not their home soil, but it's close enough. We're pretty ecstatic with the result, but we know there's a lot more ahead. It's a stepping stone towards Rio and hopefully we can keep improving onwards and upwards."
