    Sachin Tendulkar was the star attraction at a book launch in Mumbai on Friday.

    The book celebrates the life of Raj Singh Dungarpur, a towering figure in the development of Indian cricket.

    Born in 1935, Dungarpur played the game for 16 years and moved into management and then administration, eventually rising to the role of president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

    He also had a great influence on the career of 'The Little Master', the only player to have scored one hundred international centuries;

    "(Raj Singh Dungarpur) has played an immense role in making me the cricketer that I am and giving me the opportunities that I've had in my life. I am extremely glad and extremely happy that all my efforts didn't go in vain and I got to launch this book personally... so once again, thank you very much and I know that 'Raj' is somewhere in this room smiling at me or whathaveyou, so thank you very much again and we miss you."

    Raj Singh Dungarpur died in September 2009 at the age of 73.
