    There was gold medal success for Singapore and India in the shooting events at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Friday (25 July).

    Script:

    Shun Xie Teo claimed Singapore's first gold medal of the the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Friday.

    She totalled 198.6 points to top the podium in the women's 10-metre air pistol after beating India's Malaika Goel in the final.

    Dorothy Ludwig of Canada won the bronze after a total of 177.2.

    After Goel's silver, India went one better when Abhinav Bindra won gold in the men's 10-metre air rifle.

    Bindra collected 205.3 points to top the podium, while Abdullah Baki of Bangladesh claimed the silver medal.

    Daniel Rivers of England had to settle for bronze with a total of 182.4 after losing a shootout with Baki.
