Intro:
Commonwealth Games organisers admitted there would be some "disappointment" among fans in Glasgow after Mo Farah pulled out from competing on Thursday (24th July).
Script:
SOUNDBITE (English) David Grevemberg, Glasgow Commonwealth Games Chief Executive (On Mo Farah's withdrawal from the Games):
"I believe that Mo is disappointed as well at not being able to be here. Speaking with his agent and so forth he has expressed he really wishes he could of come. From that standpoint we wish Mo a speedy recovery and he is back in fighting form. I'm sure there will be some disappointed people, but there's plenty of great athletes are coming and are here training and there's no question we are looking forward to welcoming people to some great competition over the next couple days of athletics when it kicks off on Sunday."
SOUNDBITE (English) Prince Imran of Malaysia and President of the Commonwealth Games Federation (On his struggles opening the Queen's Baton during the opening ceremony):
"It was my fault, I knew exactly what to do, not the fault of the baton. It was my fault. I raised a laugh and that's what it is all about isn't it?"
OUNDBITE (English) Prince Imran of Malaysia and President of the Commonwealth Games Federation (On his struggles opening the Queen's Baton during the opening ceremony):
"I just saw it on television just before coming into this room, I didn't see it last night and even I laughed. It was a great comedy act."
